How do I find my air filter size?

Air filter sizes are made up of 3 numbers. These numbers are usually printed on the frame of your filter. For example “14x20x1”. If for some reason your filter does not have a size listed, you can always measure with a ruler or tape measure, you would need the length, width, and thickness. What does MERV mean?

MERV stands for Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value. It’s a rating that’s assigned to air filters to give consumers an idea of how fine the filtration is. MERV ratings range between 1 and 16, but for the home, MERV 8, 11 and 13 do the job perfectly. We carry all of those ratings, so no matter what your home needs, we’ve got you covered. MERV is standardized across the industry and is a perfect baseline to compare air filters cross-brand. In other words, MERV matters!

What is the point of a home air filter?

Home air filters serve a two-fold purpose in the home.
  1. They clean the air we breathe.
  2. They protect your HVAC system and keep it running efficiently.

The air in your home contains all sorts of gross particulate matter, from dust to pet dander. Air filters help to capture that stuff before it makes its way back through your central air system, and ultimately, into your body. Having adequate air filtration can cut down on allergies and keep your family healthy and breathing clear. In addition to keeping you healthy, good air filtration can save your wallet as well. A good air filter, when consistently changed, can protect your HVAC system from problems associated with dust build up. A clean system runs efficiently, therefore saving you money and avoiding costly repairs.

How often should I change my home air filter?

For most homes, changing your air filter every 30-90 days should be sufficient. If you’re allergy prone, or live in a home with older carpets which generate significant dust or shedding pets, you may want to lean more towards every 30 days. If you or your family isn’t allergy prone, and live in a home with wood or tile flooring with low dust, you can get away with 90 days. Change your air filter before it gets dirty! We can’t say this enough. By the time it’s filthy enough to see the dust and dirt on it, it’s way past time to change it. Particulate is making its way through into your system, and ultimately into your body. If it’s been a few months, change your air filter even if it looks clean.

Do you offer refunds?

In order to ensure your satisfaction, we will provide a full refund of your initial order if you are dissatisfied with the product for any reason. The refund must be requested, by email, no more than thirty (30) days after the initial order was placed. The time needed for the refund to be completed will depend on the credit card company.
